11 Mechanised Battalion

Brief History of 11 Mechanised Battalion

11 Mech Bn located in Bazua was established on 18 June 2020 based on a Promulgation dated October 2014, to take over operations responsibilities of the Upper East Region from 69 Airborne Force as part of Northern Command. The changing trends in military operations, especially within regional boundaries coupled with advances in technology, international commitments and military support for the socio-economic development of the nation, made it imperative to establish the Battalion to be responsible for military operations in the Upper East Region.
